About the Role
Together Green Care is seeking compassionate, patient, and dedicated Support Workers to work within our Children’s Services, supporting children and young people with autism and additional needs.
You will play a vital role in helping children develop independence, confidence, and life skills within a safe, structured, and nurturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Provide person-centred, child-focused support to children and young people with autism and associated needs.
Support with daily routines, personal care (where required), and emotional wellbeing.
Implement individual care plans, behaviour support plans, and risk assessments.
Use positive behaviour support strategies to manage challenging behaviour.
Support children to access education, therapy, and community activities.
Promote communication, social interaction, and life skills development.
Maintain accurate daily records, incident reports, and safeguarding documentation.
Work closely with families, schools, social workers, and multi-disciplinary teams.
Ensure a safe, structured, and inclusive environment at all times.
Follow safeguarding, health and safety, and Ofsted requirements.
Person Specification
Requirements
Essential:
A genuine passion for supporting children and young people with autism.
A calm, patient, and empathetic approach.
Excellent communication and listening skills.
Ability to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins if required.
Understanding of safeguarding children and young people.
Right to work in the UK.
Desirable:
Previous experience working with children with autism, learning disabilities, or SEN.
NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care, Children’s Care, or equivalent.
Knowledge of Positive Behaviour Support (PBS).
Experience working in residential, supported living, or school settings.
Full UK driving licence.
